Maldini Liverpool exchange spotted in tunnel

Liverpool’s Champions League campaign kicked off with a 3-2 win over AC Milan on Wednesday night.

After Fikayo Tomori’s early own goal was cancelled out by strikes from Ante Rebic and Brahim Diaz, second-half efforts from Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson steered the game back in the hosts’ favour.

It means the Reds now top Group B after Porto held Atletico Madrid to a goalless draw in the Spanish capital.

AC Milan captain Davide Calabria has admitted his side came up against a “formidable” Liverpool side on Wednesday night.

The Italian side briefly looked to have staged a highly-unlikely comeback, as they weathered the pressure from Jurgen Klopp’s team, before remarkably going 2-1 up before half-time.

Despite their historic European pedigree, the game against Liverpool was Milan’s first in the Champions League since 2014.

However, though the Rossoneri provided a stern test, Calabria spoke about how coming up against the Reds at Anfield was a shock for their more inexperienced side.
