Report: Manchester City tell Real Madrid that youngster will cost £58m

Defensa Central claim Manchester City have told Real Madrid that Ferran Torres will cost as much as £58million – with Madrid keen on the Spaniard.

Torres, 21, has gone under the radar somewhat at Manchester City – joining the club in the summer of 2020. Since then, he has played 43 times for City.

In that time, he has scored 16 goals – laying on four assists. The Spain international always seems to pop with an important goal, here and there.

Real Madrid have numerous options in attack. But given Torres is one of Spain’s best up-and-coming talents, it is hardly a surprise Madrid are keen.

City will be keen to keep a player that produces a goal involvement every two games – especially as he has only completed 90 minutes 13 times.

Torres to Madrid: Manchester City must keep Spanish ace

The chances are that Manchester City will sign a striker in the summer – perhaps Erling Haaland, Dusan Vlahovic, or England skipper Harry Kane.

But if one of those are signed, surely Jesus leaves – leaving Manchester City back in square one, with only one striker to choose from.

Pep Guardiola needs to keep the likes of Torres, who is naturally a winger but is just as good up front or as a false nine. At 21, he has huge potential.

The youngster perhaps does not get the praise he deserves – given he is not English. But he is one of City’s brightest talents and must be kept.
