Man City eye ‘big offer’ for talent with £83m release clause; he ‘has everything’

Manchester City are reportedly one of the clubs interested in Flamengo talent Matheus Franca, with the Premier League giants willing to go big on the teenager.

According to Brazilian publication Bolavip, Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to fork out a ‘big offer’ to sign the 17-year-old. As per the report, though, City face competition from Real Madrid, who have recently made big-money transfers on South American youngsters.

With the attacking midfielder having a release clause of R$642m (£83m) and both the player and Flamengo not yet open to a move, it would take some mammoth financial package from City to sign Franca.

A versatile player who ‘has everything’ a young player could want, Franca is one of the most exciting players coming through in Brazil this year. The teenager has starred in recent weeks in the Copa Sao Paulo, one of the biggest youth tournaments in South America.

Indeed, with City also reportedly keen on Brazilian sensation Endrick, it appears that the Manchester giants have been left impressed by the talent on show in the Copa Sao Paulo this year.

However, it looks like Franca is a player that the Cityzens are heavily keen on signing given the club’s eagerness to go big on the 17-year-old midfielder.

CITY HAVE TO PAY UNDER THE ODDS FOR FRANCA

Real Madrid stunned the footballing world when they spent over £100m on three Brazilians who had only just made their professional debuts. And for City, they could be about to make a similar expedition with Franca.

Indeed, whilst City essentially have an endless purse of dispensable wealth, the Premier League giants have to be cautious with the likes of Franca.

The midfielder is highly rated by those in Brazil and could have a big future. However, signing the youngster for so much could be a poor financial decision if Franca fails to live up to expectations in the Premier League.
