‘That’s Incredible’ – Pundit wowed by Grealish after ‘Difference’ he spotted at Man City

Jack Grealish has taken time to settle at Man City for three reasons, according to Paul Robinson.

The former England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the 26-year-old “is playing wider” in Pep Guardiola’s side where he is “a cog in a wheel” rather than “the focal point”.

Grealish starred for City on Sunday in a 4-1 win over Manchester United.

The England international’s inclusion in the starting XI came as somewhat of a surprise given that he recently returned from injury.

A £100million signing from Aston Villa in August, Grealish has enjoyed an indifferent start to life with the Premier League champions.

Robinson believes “incredible expectation” is the third reason for Grealish’s mixed form.

“Grealish is playing a different role at Man City to what he did at Aston Villa,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“A lot was expected him at Villa. When he didn’t play well they didn’t win. He was the focal point. He was the key to everything they did.

“At City, Grealish is a cog in a wheel. He’s not the main man. Not everything fits around him.

“He is also playing a bit wider at City and it’s taking him a bit of time to adjust.

“He is still young. He has a huge price tag around his neck and with that comes incredible expectation immediately.

“We are starting to see the best of him now though.”
