According to a journalist, the 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur player has a knee fracture and may miss Arsenal’s game.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will be preparing his team for their toughest test of the Premier League season, a trip to Arsenal next week.

On Saturday, the top-of-the-table Gunners welcome Conte’s Spurs to the Emirates Stadium in a North London derby.

This will be the Italian manager’s second meeting with Arsenal as manager, with the Lilywhites thrashing Mikel Arteta’s side 3-0 back in May, effectively ending Tottenham’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League this season.

However, this will be a far more difficult outing for Spurs, particularly in light of an injury worry.

Ben Davies sat out the victory over Leicester City last weekend due to injury and Tom Barclay, a journalist from The Sun, has revealed that the Wales international – who missed the Nations League defeat by Belgium yesterday – has suffered a fracture to a bone near his knee.

“I’m led to believe there’s a hairline fracture on the bone underneath his knee, which sounds pretty bad,” he told Give Me Sport, “but I don’t think it’s actually as serious as it sounds by any stretch.”

Football London previously reported that he could miss the visit to Arsenal, and with his absence for his country on Thursday night, it doesn’t appear that he’ll be available for the trip to the Emirates.

Conte, fortunately, has the excellent Clement Lenglet back in his three-man defense, alongside Eric Dier and Cristian Romero.

Obviously, Barclay added that Davies’ injury isn’t as serious as it sounds, but eight days may be a little optimistic in terms of recovery time.
