How Will These Three Tottenham Hotspur Players, Including This English Star, Fare In The World Cup In Qatar?

The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off this weekend in Qatar, and several Tottenham Hotspur players have been named to their respective national squads. The World Cup is being held in the Middle East for the first time in the competition’s history, and several Tottenham players have prepared to give their best performances for the sake of their country.

Let’s focus on three of those eleven Tottenham players confirmed to be on National duty and try to see how they will fare in this 2022 World Cup.

Harry Kane (England)

The England captain was obviously headed into the competition as Gareth Southgate named his squad earlier this month. Kane has led the Spurs’ frontline to be a focal point of their attack and deserves to be called up to lead the National squad in the competition. He has found the back of the net on thirteen occasions for the Lilywhites and also produced three assists this season across all competitions so far. He has had a brilliant start to this campaign, so it will give him more confidence as he looks to get his name on the scoresheet while being the first-choice striker for his National team.

England will face the USA, Wales, and Iran in group A, so we can expect Kane to score as many goals as he can to help his team qualify for the knockout stages.

Son Heung-Min (South Korea)

The South Korean captain was a significant doubt for the Qatar World Cup as he underwent eye surgery after he was forced out of the match due to an eye fracture in the crucial 2-1 Champions League win over Marseille. However, he has stated that he will be representing his National team, giving hope to the South Korean fans for their country to book their place in the Knockout stages. Son has had a slow start for Tottenham Hotspur this season as he has only scored five goals and created two assists across all competitions. However, we can expect him to play an important role in the National squad.

South Korea will heavily rely on Son’s goal-scoring prowess if they wish to extend their run in the World Cup this year.

Richarlison (Brazil)

Richarlison has not been in his best form after moving to North London as he has only managed to appear 14 times in the Spurs outfit in which he scored two goals and created two assists before picking up a calf injury. There was some initial fear that his hopes of participating in the World Cup would be over when he was substituted against Frankfurt but his injury wasn’t as serious as last year with Everton, so he was called up by Tite in order to increase the manager’s attacking options.

The Brazilian forward will have to compete against Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli for a starting place in Brazil’s match-day squad.
