Leicester City turnaround provides optimism for short and long term future under Brendan Rodgers

The latest Leicester City news as the club has already had a rollercoaster season as you have your say in the big fan forum.

The first couple of months of the 2022/23 season was one to forget for Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers in what has already proven to be a rollercoaster season.

After a difficult summer transfer window in which City made just one outfield signing, it was hoped that things would be better on the pitch at the King Power Stadium. It seemed that it would be the case after the first 45 minutes against Brentford in the opening game.

Goals from Timothy Castagne and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall put City into a 2-0 lead. But a second-half comeback from Brentford meant that the team would have to settle for just a point from the game.

That point would be the only point on the board for the team for the following six games. It left them at the bottom of the table.

The team, with newly promoted Danny Ward in goal, had also conceded a league-high 22 league goals. The defense was a unit that looked like conceding every time they were put under pressure, with calls for manager Brendan Rodgers to be shown the door.

A 4-0 win over East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest may have been the turning point. The first win and clean sheet of the season brought confidence.

Since that game, there have been just two blips on the City record. A 2-1 loss against Bournemouth suggested that the win against Forest was a false dawn, something that was not the case.

Six clean sheets from the next seven games followed. The only goal conceded by Ward and his defense in that time was a stunning free-kick from Kevin De Bruyne in the 1-0 loss against Man City.

Back-to-back away wins against Wolves, Everton and West Ham before the World Cup break show that City has turned a corner this season. But what are your thought on the season so far and the remainder of the season?
