£17m-rated Brazilian star wanted by Arsenal now wants to join Tottenham in January

Rodrigo Becao, a defender for Udinese, is reportedly interested in joining Tottenham in the January transfer window, despite reports that Arsenal is interested in the Brazilian.

According to Tutto Udinese, the player is eager to join Tottenham in the coming weeks despite interest from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Everton, and Serie A side Torino, with the report stating the defender already has Premier League offers on the table.

With Gianluca di Marzio reporting that Udinese wants at least £17 million for the 26-year-old, a January deal is well within Tottenham’s price range, especially with Antonio Conte interested in signing the center-back and the player eager to move to the white side of north London.

A regular for Udinese this season and known for his touch-tackling approach to defending, Becao has the potential to be a useful signing for Tottenham in January, with Conte seemingly keen to add to his center-back ranks for the second half of the season.

Indeed, whilst Arsenal could also do with such a player, Arteta’s methodical approach to who he wants in his squad could make Becao a poor signing for the Premier League leaders. Meaning Tottenham could soon be in the clear to sign the Brazilian star in January.

Moreover, given that Tottenham has already seemingly landed on a gem from Udinese in Destiny Udogie, Conte and Fabio Paratici could be eager to move for a more finished product from the Udine-based club in Becao, who is seemingly ready for a move to north London.

TOTTENHAM SIGNING BECAO WOULD BE A GREAT MOVE

Becao’s form pre-injury was a key reason behind Udinese’s best start to a Serie A season in well over a decade. And the defender’s performances this campaign have proved that the 26-year-old is capable of moving to the Premier League, with Tottenham the perfect club for the South American.

Defenders are on the agenda for Conte in January, and with Becao now open to signing for Tottenham ahead of north London rivals Arsenal, the center-back joining the club feels like a foregone conclusion ahead of the winter transfer window.
