‘He could bring them the World Cup,’ admits Tottenham ace.

Richarlison’s brace for Brazil against Croatia at the World Cup has been described as “phenomenal” by Tottenham Hotspur player Matt Doherty.

Writing in his World Cup Diary, on the club website, the full-back was over the moon for the Spurs forward.

It finished 2-0 for the South American side in the end. Not only did Richarlison net twice, but the second goal was arguably the goal of the tournament so far.

The 25-year-old led the line for Brazil, in a star-studded line-up that included Thiago Silva and Neymar. Doherty felt that Richarlison deserved any success he gets for his hard work.

Here’s what he had to say about his teammate, “Brazil was very impressive in the second half against Serbia, and our boy Richy [Richarlison] with the goal of the tournament so far! His record with Brazil is phenomenal (that’s nine goals in six caps in 2022) and he could bring them the World Cup. He works his socks off and what a nice guy, he deserves everything positive that comes his way.”

TIF’s view on Doherty’s comments…

We believe that Richarlison is a real talent when he puts on that Brazil shirt. As Doherty previously mentioned, he’s netted nine times in six games for Brazil.

The Spurs man was super clinical against Serbia. Both shots he put on target, hit the back of the net. With only 25 touches across the match, Richarlison made them count with a brace to his name.

Tottenham fans will be hoping he can bring that form back to the Premier League. This season the Brazilian is currently without any goals to his name but does have two assists.

He cost Spurs a lot of money last summer, and Everton sold him to the club for a fee of £60 million. If he can replicate his goal-scoring form of nine in six, for Brazil at Tottenham, he’ll be worth every penny.
