On his return to England ahead of the Wales match, James Maddison sends a six-word message.

Latest Leicester City news: England midfielder James Maddison returns to training at the World Cup in Qatar and posts on social media.

After returning to training, Leicester City and England midfielder James Maddison posted a message on social media.

Maddison returned to on-field training for the first time since missing out on a spot in the matchday squads against Iran and the United States last Wednesday. He has yet to play for the Three Lions after suffering a knee injury in City’s pre-tournament win over West Ham.

After spending some training sessions working indoors to manage his workload, Maddison is now back on the pitch and could feature against Wales on Tuesday. He is unlikely to go straight into the starting XI but could make an impact from the bench.

Taking to Twitter after training on Saturday, Maddison eased any worries supporters had over the condition of his knee. “Back at it & feeling good,” he wrote, with a grinning face emoji.

There has been plenty of debate over who should start in the attacking areas for England, with many dismayed that Gareth Southgate has not given a single minute to Phil Foden during the tournament so far.

Mason Mount is favored, with Jack Grealish and Marcus Rashford coming off the bench in both games. It will be difficult for Maddison to find a place in the team given Southgate’s staunch decisions, but it is a challenge he will certainly look to rise to.
