After making a ‘in his heart’ comment, club president makes a €20 million transfer claim for Leicester City.

Leicester City has learned the fee they will have to pay to sign Fenerbahce defender Attila Szalai.

To sign reported transfer target Attila Szalai, Leicester City will need to pay at least €20 million.

City, West Ham, and Newcastle United, as well as Serie A side Bologna, are said to be interested in the 24-year-old Fenerbahce defender. While City will almost certainly prioritize a right-winger and a left-back in the January transfer window, a center-back could still be a useful addition with Caglar Soyuncu’s future uncertain.

Szalai is said to want to play in the Premier League, and the three English clubs have now learned how much they must pay for the Hungary international.

According to Turkish outlet Aksam, Fenerbahce wants at least €20million for the defender, who they signed for around a tenth of that price from Cypriot side AEL Limassol in January 2021. Since then, he has gone on to play an impressive 90 games for the Turkish champions.

Fenerbahce president Ali Koc gave an interview about selling Szalai recently, and is quoted as saying: “I will not even consider offers below €20m”.
