Leicester City is reportedly ‘planning a new attempt’ to secure the signing of Atalanta midfielder Jeremie Boga.

It is understood City had come to an agreement with the club to secure the 25-year-old on a season-long loan deal in the summer, but Boga pulled out at the last minute. Since then, the Frenchman has struggled at Atalanta following his switch from Sassuolo, with his performances described as “far from what is expected”.

leicestershirelive reported that an exit in the January transfer window is ‘inevitable’, as the midfielder looks for a fresh start.

According to the Italian outlet Fiorentina.IT, Leicester, and Fiorentina are among the interested sides.

The report also highlights that Atalanta is now ‘ready to discuss a potential deal with interested parties with Leicester understood to be ‘determined’ to try again. It looks as though Brendan Rodgers will be keen to attack the market in the winter, after making just one signing in the summer, Wout Faes.
