Antonio Conte will miss his key player who really impressed him, which is expected to go on loan very soon

Tottenham Hotspur is expected to make both incoming and outgoing transfers during the January transfer window.

Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to bolster his first-team options.

Alasdair Gold, a football London journalist, has been discussing a variety of Spurs-related topics on his YouTube channel.

According to Gold, a number of players on the verge of joining Conte’s team now have an opportunity to impress him.

Tottenham has a dozen players at the World Cup, so Djed Spence and Bryan Gil will be able to work closely with Conte.

However, The Times believes he could leave on loan in January.

Another player who could leave the club on a temporary basis is youngster Alfie Devine.

The 18-year-old is one of the standout players in Tottenham’s academy.

Gold now believes that Devine is likely to leave on loan in January to earn some important first-team minutes.

Devine likely to leave Tottenham on loan

Gold was asked about the versatile youngster and said: “I’ve seen quite a bit of Alfie, he does look like a man among boys sometimes.

“With Alfie, everything is on him. He was likely to head out on loan this season, and then he picked up a really frustrating hamstring injury.

“It stopped the chances of him heading out on loan, and you would presume now that it will happen in January.

“He needs it, he needs to do what Dane’s [Scarlett] done. He needs to go to a League One team.

“Get him playing week in, week out, every minute possible, and I think you’ll see a very rapid development.”

Devine has already written his name in Tottenham’s history books, as he’s currently their youngest-ever scorer.

He’s been a regular in Antonio Conte’s first-team training and already learned a lot from the senior members of the squad.

The Athletic has previously reported that Conte is a big fan of Devine’s, and would have been very pleased to see him sign a contract extension in September.

Conte has struggled to give Tottenham’s younger players minutes this season.

The 18-year-old may be given an opportunity against Portsmouth in the FA Cup.

However, Conte already has a large senior squad to try and keep happy.

Devine now looks likely to leave the club on loan in January.
