Manchester United’s key player, who was knocked out of the World Cup, should be available for the Nottingham Forest match.

Christian Eriksen of Manchester United has been knocked out of the World Cup.

Denmark was defeated by Australia, leaving them at the bottom of their group with just one point.

The Danes, who recently defeated France in the UEFA Nations League and are semi-finalists at Euro 2020, had high hopes.

They were defeated by Les Bleus on their way to elimination from the World Cup, ahead of today’s 1-0 loss to Australia.

With the World Cup final only a week away, any Manchester United players who make it this far are unlikely to return to domestic action right away.

Eriksen on the other hand should be rested up in time for the league game against Forest at Old Trafford.

This is a major boost for manager Erik ten Hag. Eriksen could line up in central midfield along with Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek, who are both not at the World Cup.

It is unclear if Eriksen could be considered for the Carabao Cup tie against Burnley on December 21 or the friendlies in Spain against Cadiz and Real Betis.

This will depend on how much time off he is granted. But either way, he is expected to be available for the Premier League fixture against Forest.

Hannibal Mejbri also eliminated

Manchester United loanee Hannibal Mejbri is also out, with Tunisia eliminated despite their win over an under-strength France.

He is expected to link straight back up with Birmingham City for the resumption of their season later in December unless Erik ten Hag wants to take a closer look at his progress.
