Tottenham now has a fantastic opportunity to sign an £8.5 million deal for a ‘great’ World Cup player compared to Di Maria.

Tottenham Hotspur has been able to take stock and plan for the rest of the season in recent weeks, but they could have been a lot better.

Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte have likely also been discussing transfer plans ahead of the January window.

Spurs have suffered from several injuries in the attack which have hampered their campaign.

Therefore, a player who could challenge – and deputize – Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison would be a good shout.

In addition, Tottenham could also do with an attacking midfielder to provide more creativity.

As luck would have it, a fellow London club could soon part company with one such player.

Hakim Ziyech is currently at Chelsea, but his future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain.

Gazzetta Dello Sport recently suggested that the 29-year-old is willing to take a pay cut in order to leave the Blues.

Back in July, the Daily Mail reported that Chelsea was willing to sell him for around £ 8.5 million.

The summer also saw links between Tottenham and Ziyech.

Back in August, journalist Toni Juanmarti suggested that Spurs got close to agreeing on personal terms with the attacking midfielder.

In the end, Tottenham didn’t get a move over the line and Ziyech stayed at Stamford Bridge.

‘A new opportunity

Now, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Ziyech is eager to “try something different” next year.

“Hakim Ziyech,” the transfer insider said of the World Cup quarter-finalist on his YouTube channel.

“He’s not so young but he was needing that kind of performance as he had with Morocco in the World Cup.

“This player is great and he needs to play.

“This is the point – in the summer he had a chance with AC Milan, then with Ajax.

“Chelsea only wanted the permanent transfer, not a loan.

“But I think that in 2023, January or summer, he will have a serious chance to leave Chelsea and have a new opportunity.

“So Hakim Ziyech could be one to watch on the market already in January.

“If not January, in the summer, because he wants to try something different.

“And when he plays on a consistent base he’s showing how good he is as always.”

Although Ziyech has failed to impress Chelsea, his displays for Morocco at the World Cup are proof of what a great player he is.

On Twitter, fans have compared him to the likes of Angel Di Maria, Eden Hazard, and Arjen Robben.

Meanwhile, Conte has shown how good he is at reinvigorating struggling players.

Let’s not forget Dejan Kulusevski was a fringe player at Juve.
