Newcastle and Arsenal have “taken first steps” toward signing; the club is “ready to sell” the player, but needs…

Iván Fresneda’s interest in playing for Newcastle United was reported three days ago by Radio Marca Valladolid. Arsenal and Juventus have joined the Magpies in the pursuit of the Real Valladolid player in the winter transfer market.

The Serie A team is looking to sign the 18-year-old as a replacement for Juan Cuadrado. For his services, they will have to compete with Newcastle United and the Gunners.

According to Calciomercato., the two Premier League clubs have shown the “strongest and most concrete” interest in the Spain U19 international.

Additionally, it is asserted that both Eddie Howe’s team and Arsenal have “taken the first steps” to sign the defender in January. The La Liga team is “ready to sell” Fresneda if they get a bid between €15 million and €20 million next month.

Real Valladolid has made it clear that they will only consider an outright sale in the winter market, which makes it difficult for the Old Lady to find a loan agreement.

Calciomercato reports that Fresneda has “concrete” interest from Arsenal and Newcastle.

It doesn’t say which of the two teams is leading the competition to sign the player.
