Newcastle United are preparing a major deal to derail Real Madrid and cement their place among England’s elite.

Newcastle will soon complete a crucial piece of business that will leave Real Madrid wanting and help Eddie Howe’s side establish themselves in the upper echelons of the Premier League, TEAMtalk has learned.

The Magpies were always going to crash the traditional big six’s party once they were bought by the Saudi-led PIF, but few predicted how quickly they’d do it.

Eddie Howe’s team is already a legitimate contender to finish in the top four. They are third in the table heading into this weekend’s fixtures, and with both the Manchester and North London derbies taking place, they have the opportunity to gain even more ground on their rivals.

Newcastle has splashed the cash in each of the previous two windows since coming under new ownership.
However, it’d be unfair to say they’re simply buying their success given the remarkable improvement many of their stars have shown.
Holdovers from the previous regime Fabian Schar and Miguel Almiron have both been nothing short of sensational since Howe took charge.
Dan Burn has been a revelation since arriving from Brighton. Nick Pope has proved why many believe he should be England’s No 1, while Bruno Guimaraes has established himself as one of the league’s finest midfielders.

Guimaraes was signed by Lyon for a fee that could rise to £40 million a year ago. He was a standout performer in Ligue 1, but he’s unquestionably elevated his game at St. James’ Park.

Sadly for Newcastle, his outstanding performances on both the defensive and offensive sides of the game have not gone unnoticed.

Guimaraes is being pursued by Real Madrid.
