‘Head and shoulders the best player,’ says Lineker of the winger who was recently offered to Tottenham.

Tete was offered the chance to join Tottenham Hotspur in January, and the winger has impressed on his debut for Leicester City.

Leicester City began a new era on Saturday when they unveiled three major new signings against Aston Villa.

Victor Kristiansen, who arrived from Copenhagen, and defender Harry Souttar, who arrived from Stoke City, both started.

Then there’s winger Tete, who is on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk to Leicester until the end of the season.

Souttar didn’t get off to a good start, scoring an own goal, but he and Kristiansen were largely solid throughout.

Tete provided some magic in the final third, scoring to give the Foxes a 4-2 victory.

Tete made a darting run in behind the Villa defense before rounding Emi Martinez to score with the game poised at 2-2.

Tete was largely impressive throughout, recording six successful dribbles in an outstanding performance.

Leicester have been looking for a quality right winger for years, and Tete appears to be their man.

Leicester is concerned about having only Tete on loan, but Gary Lineker does not appear to be concerned.

Lineker claimed on Twitter that Tete was “head and shoulders the best player” on the pitch during a wild game at Villa Park.

Tete could have lined up for other Premier League clubs this weekend after being offered to a number of them.

West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle, and Arsenal were all made aware of Tete’s availability in December, according to 90Min.

Tottenham needed another winger but instead signed Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal.

Tottenham may keep an eye on Tete in the future, as it’s difficult to ignore him after such an impressive debut performance.
