New video reveals the melee that resulted in Casemiro’s dismissal for Manchester United against Crystal Palace…

A new camera angle has shed more light on the Saturday brawl between Manchester United and Crystal Palace players.

Despite Erik ten Hag’s team appears to be cruising to three points with a two-goal lead as the game approached the midway point of the second half, chaos would ensue following a collision on the side of the pitch.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro was sent off for grabbing Will Hughes by the neck

Palace’s Jeffrey Schlupp was booked for a rash challenge on Antony, which sparked a clash between the two teams.

A new video taken by a fan in the Old Trafford stands and shared on Twitter shows Casemiro approaching and shoving the Ghana international, prompting players from both teams to get involved in the fracas.

The former Real Madrid player is then seen grabbing Will Hughes by the throat as both players’ teammates clash around them.

Casemiro was sent off after consulting VAR, and the Brazilian now faces a three-match ban.

Following the game, Ten Hag questioned why only the Brazilian was chastised for his part in the incident.

‘I see two teams fighting each other,’ said United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. ‘I see two teams where multiple players cross the line, and then one player is singled out and sent off. That does not sit well with me.

‘When Casemiro is sent off for this incident, many more players should be sent off as well. You must be consistent.’

Ten Hag responded, ‘Definitely,’ when asked if Ayew should have been one of them. He performed even worse than Casemiro. You froze the shot, Casemiro, and he crossed the line. Yes, absolutely. You must maintain consistency with VAR.

Following a VAR review, the Brazilian was shown his first red card since joining the club from Real Madrid in the summer.
