Casemiro of Manchester United could be ruled out of the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, and here’s why.

Casemiro, the Manchester United midfielder, could miss the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United if his club decides to appeal his red card.

The Brazilian midfielder was sent off in United’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday after colliding with Eagles midfielder Will Hughes during a scuffle.

As a result, he will miss the Red Devils’ next three domestic games, including back-to-back Premier League matches against Leeds United and a home league match against Leicester City.

He will be missed by United, but he will be available for the crucial Carabao Cup final against Newcastle on February 26.

However, after the game against Palace, manager Erik ten Hag stated that the club would consider appealing Casemiro’s red card, which could result in him being suspended for the Wembley match.

According to the Manchester Evening News, if the FA disciplinary panel rejects an appeal case as ‘frivolous,’ an additional game is added to the suspension.

While this is unlikely to happen, it may cause the Red Devils to reconsider whether or not to file an appeal.

United suffers a significant setback.
Since joining Real Madrid in the summer in a deal worth up to £70 million, the 30-year-old has quickly become a fan favorite and brings a wealth of top-level experience with him.

With five Champions League medals to his name, he has solved a long-standing problem for United in the middle of the park.

Former Manchester United player Paul Pogba failed to make an impression as a defensive midfielder for the Red Devils, and current players Scott McTominay and Fred are a step below Casemiro.

His absence was felt in United’s recent league defeat to league leaders Arsenal, which ended Ten Hag’s side’s six-game unbeaten league run.

If they are to win their first major trophy since 2017, the midfielder must be available for selection.
