“I’ve heard” – Fabrizio Romano shares an exciting Tottenham claim.

Tottenham Hotspur will hold talks with Harry Kane in the coming weeks about a new contract for the 29-year-old striker.

With just over a year remaining on his current contract, the England captain’s future in north London is being seriously questioned.

This means that if he does not sign a new contract, Spurs will have one last chance to recoup a significant fee for the striker this summer.

There have also been reports linking him to rumored interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich ahead of the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano, speaking on the House of Champions YouTube channel, claims the 29-year-old still wants to win trophies with Tottenham and will resume talks in the coming weeks:

“I’m told he still wants to win the Premier League with Tottenham. He is still determined to win at Tottenham. He’s still fighting for Tottenham, and there will be talks in the coming weeks between his brother, Harry Kane’s agent, Charlie, and Tottenham about a new contract.”

Contract negotiations will begin soon.
It will be interesting to see what Kane decides to do before the summer, as it is difficult to imagine Spurs allowing him to leave for free next summer if he does not sign a contract.

Kane has now surpassed Jimmy Greaves as Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer, leaving Alan Shearer’s Premier League record to be broken.

However, there will be a natural desire for trophies, which has eluded Kane thus far in his career.

And that is something he may feel is more achievable at the end of the season if he leaves for a club like Manchester United.

Spurs still have a lot to play for this season, with a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals at stake when they face either Sheffield United or Wrexham in the next round.

Although Kane will undoubtedly back himself to score in any team, it will be interesting to see if he believes Spurs is the best place for him to do so.

He has demonstrated over the years that he can consistently score in this environment, and a move could potentially jeopardize his pursuit of the record.
