Manchester United’s star player set a new personal best When Leicester make

Marcus Rashford is in top form, and earlier this week, when his goal set Manchester United on their way to a comeback against Barcelona, he equaled his best-ever goalscoring tally in a single season.

That was his 22nd goal of the season, and the total number of goals he scored in the 2019/20 season. He scored 21 goals the following season.

The 25-year-old has now scored more than 20 goals in three of the last four seasons, putting to rest any notion that he has been mediocre for years.

Erik ten Hag’s men are in excellent form and have the potential to pull away from the chasing pack in the Premier League this weekend, while also closing the gap on second-placed Manchester City.

With Newcastle’s defeat to Liverpool, United could move eight points clear of their Carabao Cup final opponents next weekend, and Rashford has an added incentive.

With one more goal, he will break his personal goalscoring record, and with 14 goals in his last 16 appearances, you would expect him to deliver.

Leicester are also on a roll, having won their last three games in all competitions, including a convincing 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
