Liverpool’s 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United is the latest result to give club supporters renewed hope following a difficult 2022-23 season.
The Reds began the season hoping to repeat their Quadruple-threatening exploits from the previous season, but they quickly fell behind Premier League pacesetters Arsenal and Manchester City.
Neither domestic cup competition provided much solace, and they’ll travel to Real Madrid for the second leg of the Champions League last-16, needing a miracle to overcome a three-goal deficit from the reverse fixture.
