Crystal Palace vs Man City injury & suspension news: Phil Foden doubt and three ruled out

Phil Foden is the only injury doubt for Manchester City ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The Blues head into the game on the back of three straight wins in all competitions, and beat Newcastle United 2-0 last weekend. John Stones and Aymeric Laporte returned to the squad for the win over the Magpies following recent injury and illness issues, although neither came off the bench.

Their involvements mean Foden is the only injury concern, with City’s no.47 admitting in midweek that he’s struggling with an ongoing foot problem. Asked about the injury, after the Newcastle game, Foden said: “It was the derby, I had it just before but it wasn’t too serious then

“I damaged it a bit more against United. Unfortunately, I’ve kind of hurt it again today, but now I need to rest up. We’ve got two days off now so hopefully, I’ll have the chance to rest it.”

The England international was pictured in training during the week and is expected to be involved at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Kyle Walker is also available for selection following a week in which Cheshire Police announced they are investigating the 32-year-old in relation to an alleged indecent exposure.

As for Palace, they will be without Cheick Doucoure, who was sent off in last week’s 1-0 loss to Aston Villa. Wilfried Zaha returned for the game and the ex-Manchester United attacker is expected to play against City this weekend.

Sam Johnstone has a calf issue while Nathan Ferguson is a long-term absentee with an Achilles injury, but they are the only injured players from Patrick Vieira’s squad.

The Eagles are 12th in the table ahead of this weekend’s fixtures and are five points clear of the drop zone, while City are second and five points off leaders Arsenal.

Doubt: Foden

Ruled out: Johnstone, Ferguson, Doucoure
