Three teams including Leicester City interested in Liverpool midfielder on fast-expiring contract

Southampton, Brighton, and Leicester City are interested in signing Liverpool star Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain
According to Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), three Premier League sides are competing for the signature of Liverpool midfielder Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

It is claimed that Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City are all vying for the signature of the forward who is set to leave Liverpool after the current season.

Signed from Arsenal as one of the first major faces to come to Liverpool in the Jurgen Klopp era, the move has not materialized as how both parties would have anticipated.

Except for a couple of words here and there, Ox has failed to nail down a starting spot in his time at Anfield. That is not what we envisaged when we dished out 35 million Pounds for him and signed him from Arsenal with just one year left on his then-Gunners deal.

Many can factor in the numerous injuries suffered during his spell here but even when fully fit, he has not been able to perform to a level that would warrant a starting position in the team.

Similar to the situation of Naby Keita, two midfielders with immense potential but failed to truly work on it and stake a claim for a sustained run in the side.

This season has shown that the team needs new faces with top-notch quality and especially in the midfield region hence it would be a far cry to say that Ox would be part of the team in the long run.

Hence, a move away suits best in the interest of all parties involved and hopefully going to a mid-table team would allow Ox to regain his lost form and confidence and get a chance to reinvigorate his career.
