Arsenal has agreed to pay £80 million for 24-year-old ‘diamond’.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal is reportedly ready to pay £80 million for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal ready to pay £80m for West Ham United star Declan Rice

Football Transfers have reported that Arsenal wants to sign Rice from London and Premier League rivals West Ham.

The Gunners value the 24-year-old England international midfielder at £80 million.

According to The Daily Star, West Ham want as much as £100 million for Rice, described as “a diamond and a fabulous player” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on told Premier League Productions (29/04/23 at 11:50 am).

Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in securing the services of Rice in the summer transfer window, according to Football Transfers.

Gunners need to pay more

In our view, if West Ham United is not willing to accept anything less than £100 million for Declan Rice, then Arsenal will simply have to pay that transfer fee.

It is as simple as that.

West Ham is now likely to retain their Premier League status for next season, and the Hammers could also win a major European trophy.

Now, of course, Rice could be very tempted to join an Arsenal team who could still win the Premier League title this season, but the Hammers cannot be forced into selling him this summer.

After all, Rice has a contract with West Ham until the summer of 2024, with the Hammers having the option to extend it by another year.
