Tim Sherwood doesn’t think Chelsea’s boss can keep all of his players happy this season

Former Tottenham Hotspur player and manager, Tim Sherwood, thinks that the only problem Thomas Tuchel faces this season is keeping the morale in his squad high.

The Blues have added a number of gifted players to their squad in recent years, with the likes of Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy arriving last summer alone.

Add club-record signing Romelu Lukaku to that list and suddenly Chelsea look like a team capable of following up their Champions League victory with a Premier League win.

However, now that such an incredible amount of talent is available for selection, some may become frustrated by a lack of playing time.

Sherwood thinks that the Blues are certainly in with a shot of winning the Premier League this season, but because they’ve got so many good players available, Tuchel will need to have get his balancing act right.

Speaking to Premier League Productions, via football365, Sherwood said: “With that addition of Romelu Lukaku, they should have real belief that they can go on and win the title. They’ve got so many players in that squad.

“Thomas Tuchel’s problem is trying to keep them all happy, which is impossible to do unfortunately.

“But right now I’m going with Chelsea to win it.”

Sherwood added that Harry Kane’s potential transfer to one of the two Manchester club’s could eventually alter his opinion.

“Lukaku is a huge, huge plus for them. But obviously Harry Kane could still go to Man City or Man United this summer and that might change my mind. Kane at one of those clubs makes a big difference.”

Tuchel will have to deal with a newfound balancing issue, but it’s ultimately a healthy problem to have.
