Manchester City could yet make a move to try and take Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

Manchester City could yet make a move to try and take Pierre Emerick Aubameyang away from Arsenal, ESPN say.

If City fail to land Harry Kane, it is claimed that the Arsenal striker may just come on to Pep Guardiola’s side radar.

City are intent on landing a goalscorer, as they have not replaced Sergio Aguero so far. While Ferran Torres can play up-front, City lack a real potent weapon up-front, and it seems that Aubameyang could be a last minute option.

Arsenal are believed to be open to selling the Gabonese international now, with ESPN speculating that a fee of around £25 million could be enough to take him to the Etihad Stadium.

If Arsenal were to raise those sort of funds for Aubameyang, it would help them bring in more players this summer.

However, it would also be a risk to offload their main goalscorer for such a fee.

Aubameyang may not have shown his best form at Arsenal for well over a year now.

However, on his day he remains a real asset – which is highlighted by City’s apparent interest in him.

And if a late bid did come in, it would be interesting to see how Arsenal would respond.
