Solskjaer offers update on Amad’s injury

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has offered an update on the fitness of Manchester United wonderkid Amad.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Solskjaer said that the Ivorian is expected to be out for another

Amad is yet to make an appearance this season, due to a combination of injury and the Olympics in the summer.

When asked for an update on Amad’s situation, Solskjaer said: “He’s still injured, still out for about a month, so maybe after the next international break he will be available for us which is great.

“It was bad timing for him to get that injury but he’s working really hard and the kid is going to be a good one.”

Amad will obviously miss today’s clash with Newcastle, but one player who can play is Fred. The club have confirmed that the midfielder will be permitted to face Steve Bruce’s side, after the situation with Brazil internationals was finally resolved.

Amad was all set to go on loan to Feyenoord for the season, before injury struck at the worst time.

But as we wrote yesterday, he now has the opportunity to learn alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

There is nobody better for a young winger to learn from in terms of professionalism than Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was once in Amad’s shoes, a highly-rated young winger brought to United for decent money, and he went from there to become one of the world’s best players ever.
