7 Man City players named in England youth squads for upcoming international break

City have a number of representatives in both the England Under-21 and Under-20 squad.

Manchester City have three representatives in the England Under-21 squad for the upcoming internationals.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Tommy Doyle, on loan at Anderlecht and Hamburg respectively, have been selected by manager Lee Carsley, as has Cole Palmer who is still at the club.

The Under 21s will face two European Championship qualifying matches in the upcoming window, as they travel to Slovenia and Andorra.

Palmer was especially impressive during the previous international break, as he netted on his debut for the Under-21 side, finishing off a brilliant run with a rasping finish in the 2-0 win over Kosovo.

The 19-year-old has made five appearances for the City first team in total, including one outing in the Premier League this season. Palmer also scored in the 6-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers in the League Cup.

Doyle is another youngster the club have high hopes for and he was sent out on loan to Hamburg in the hope of getting some game time. However, he has yet to feature for his new club and the midfielder will be desperate to get some minutes under his belt as a result.

Like Doyle and Palmer, Harwood-Bellis made his only appearance at Under-21 level in the win over Kosovo in September.

The defender spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, where he made 19 Championship appearances.

City also have plenty of representation in the England Under-20 squad that was named on Friday.

James Trafford, Joshua Wilson-Esbrand, James McAtee and Morgan Rogers were all picked in Andy Edwards’ squad for the matches with Italy and Czech Republic later this month.
