What Chris Sutton believes that Romelu Lukaku is going to make

Chris Sutton believes that Romelu Lukaku is going to make the difference this season for Chelsea, tipping him for the individual prize of Premier League golden boot.

Lukaku, 28, has been adjusting to life back at Stamford Bridge after sealing his Blues return in the summer.

The Belgian centre-forward has four goals in eight appearances so far this season, including three in Premier League matches.

His side are fresh off the back of two consecutive defeats, losing to Manchester City and Juventus, so desperately need a response this weekend at home to Southampton in the league fixture. Here is our predicted line-up to face the Saints.

Sutton, who’s tipping Lukaku to be the Premier League top scorer this season ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah, has hailed the striker’s talent:

“I think Lukaku is going to make the difference at Chelsea this season. I think he’s a brilliant, brilliant signing,” Sutton said.

Can Romelu Lukaku win the golden boot?

For Lukaku, he’s shown he can be a prolific scorer wherever he goes. However, there is a real battle on to clinch the Premier League golden boot.

Michail Antonio, Mohamed Salah and Jamie Vardy are the early frontrunners with five goals each.

Chelsea are about to enter a favourable run of league matches, though, where Lukaku should be eyeing a hatful of goals to close that deficit. It’s up to his teammates to help create more chances for him.

Mason Mount’s recent absence has highlighted the fact he’s probably in Chelsea’s best starting line-up. Meanwhile, Kai Havertz has started a lot of games, too.

But, Tuchel’s side are looking a little toothless going forward right now and it may be time for the manager to try a few different things.

Timo Werner must be desperate for more chances. Also, Callum Hudson-Odoi might be a possible option to throw into the mix.
