Robbie Savage has admitted to UMM that he has completely changed his mind about where Liverpool will finish this season

Robbie Savage has admitted to UMM that he has completely changed his mind about where Liverpool will finish this season.

STRONG START

When the campaign began Savage felt that Liverpool were destined to finish fourth, just like last term.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have begun the new season in strong form and remain unbeaten.

Liverpool actually lead the way in the Premier League standings at this early stage.

And Savage now thinks that Klopp’s side may have what it takes to finish above Manchester United, despite the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Before the start of the season I’d have gone Chelsea, Man City, United and Liverpool,” he said.

“I’ve gone Chelsea to win it, if City had got Kane I’d have gone City to win but they didn’t so I’ve got them second, then I had United third.

“But I’ve changed that now to Liverpool third, considering that Van Dijk, Matip and Gomez are like new signings. They have all their players back and I’d say that Liverpool with Van Dijk in the side will be third.”

CAN KLOPP’S MEN WIN IT?

Savage may be placing Liverpool higher than he first felt was likely, but Klopp’s side are likely to have their eyes on the big prize.

With most their key players back, Liverpool have proven once again just how much quality they have in their starting line-up.

The Reds’ squad may not run quite as deep as many of their main rivals for the title, but if they can keep the bulk of their squad fit then they are sure to be a tough opponent to knock off the top spot.

Liverpool are actually next in action against Manchester City on Sunday, and if Klopp’s side come out victorious at the weekend it really would send out a message about their title credentials this term.
