Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly have to fork out an eye-watering £43million-a-year salary if they want to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The French giants intend to target the highly sought-after Norwegian in the summer as they begin to plan for life without Kylian Mbappe, who looks destined to join Real Madrid.

Mbappe’s deal expires at the end of the season and he is hellbent on running it down so he can move to Madrid on a free after seeing a transfer there blocked by PSG back in the summer.

Haaland, who reportedly attracted a number of offers in the region of £100m that Dortmund turned down in the summer, has been identified as PSG’s No 1 target if Mbappe does decide to leave.

PSG will be able to save a significant chunk on his transfer fee, with Haaland’s £64m release clause coming into effect next year, but Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the striker’s agent will ask for a huge £43m-a-year deal plus bonuses for his services.

Haaland has a number of potential suitors in Europe with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid all linked with moves for him.

However, PSG are said to be in pole position to sign him, while they also have the financial muscle to meet his huge salary demands.

Raiola, who took Haaland on a European tour to ramp up the 21-year-old’s price earlier this year, believes the striking sensation will be able to get an even more lucrative deal next summer because his price tag will be ‘lower’ than his actual transfer value.

The super agent is notorious for making extraordinary demands and being difficult to work with in negotiations, but PSG have already done business with him back in the summer when they signed Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Haaland’s signing would see PSG form an incredible front three with the 21-year-old playing alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar. The Norwegian has established himself as one of the world’s best strikers around in the past few seasons, remarkably scoring  68 goals in 67 matches for Dortmund.
