Why Chelsea fans were ‘depressed’ after Liverpool vs Man City draw

The Blues head into the international break top of the Premier League following their win against Southampton and their rivals’ draw – but fans were not happy about one thing

Chelsea fans were all left pining for former players Kevin de Bruyne and Mohamed Salah as both players starred as Liverpool and Man City drew 2-2 in the Premier League.

Liverpool and Manchester City had to settle for a point each at Anfield after a pulsating 2-2 draw.

City dominated the first half but could not find the finishing touch and they were made to pay when Sadio Mane put Liverpool into the lead just before the hour mark.

Phil Foden equalised 10 minutes later before Salah scored a brilliant individual goal to put the hosts back in front with 14 minutes remaining.

But De Bruyne’s deflected strike brought the scores level again and both sides missed chances to win it.

The result leaves Liverpool one point behind Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table, with City a further point behind in third.

And despite being left above their rivals in the table, Chelsea fans were left wishing their club had been able to keep hold of both of their former players.
