Injury Expert: Man City superstar who ‘Fans Love’ hasn’t ‘Train Properly For Six Months’

Kevin De Bruyne is finally able to train at full throttle – and that means the Man City superstar can get back to his dazzling best.

That is according to injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.

As per Manchester Evening News on 18 October, Pep Guardiola opined: “Kevin needs to be fit to be the best” and he is “getting better” all the time.

De Bruyne, 30, did not start any of City’s first five league matches in 2021-22 but now has two goals and an assist in his last three outings.

He suffered an ankle injury at the Euros while already dealing with the fractured eye socket he picked up in last season’s Champions League final.

But Dinnery claims the Belgian playmaker is now “pain-free” and approaching his magnificent best.

“He played at the Euros when he maybe should have taken a back seat,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“That set him back quite a while. When he came back, he didn’t quite feel right. He was pushing too hard to be back for the start of the season.

“He’s fairly robust and can tolerate the game, but then he took a step back and took the time that he needed.

“The fact that he is pain-free now is a massive boost because he’s training all the time and his fitness levels are improving.

“He didn’t train properly for maybe six months and that has a domino effect on your performances. That trickles down into confidence as well.

“So if he’s feeling good now, we are hopefully going to see the De Bruyne us fans have come to love once again.”
