Arsenal defender Ben White impressed fans with a brilliant, surging 60-yard dribble out of defence during the opening minutes of his side’s victory over Aston Villa this Friday.

White, playing in his first season at the Emirates, performed the superb run after collecting the ball on the edge of his own penalty area during the seventh minute of the game, before then carrying the ball near the full length of the pitch and then laying it off to teammate Emile Smith-Rowe on the edge of the opposition’s box.

The 24-year-old, who has become a standout player for the Gunners in recent weeks, also managed to casually skip past four visiting players during his moment of brilliance, with the work of his team-mates also being notable as they moved cleverly to keep as many opposition players away from the centre-back as possible.

Unfortunately for White, however, his quick thinking to rapidly turn defence into attack would ultimately result in little, with the attack fizzling out shortly afterwards – but the moment did once again remind fans of why he is rated as one of the most promising young defenders in the Premier League.

Arsenal weren’t left ruing the missed opportunity with the side eventually emerging out of the game with a 3-1 victory –  a result which sent the Gooners back into the top half of the Premier League table.
