Manchester United have been after Erling Haaland since he was playing for RB Salzburg. In the winter transfer window last year, he decided to move to Borussia Dortmund.

The Norwegian international has scored for fun for the German Bundesliga side and so far, he has netted 70 goals in just 69 appearances in all competitions.

According to ESPN, the 21-year-old striker is wanted by Man Utd, Man City, Real Madrid and European champions, Chelsea.

The renowned news source have mentioned that the forward’s current deal with BvB has a release clause of 75 million euros that can be activated in the summer next year.

Apart from the huge transfer fee, it is stated that the player is demanding a mammoth contract that will make him earn at least £577,000-a-week (£30million per season) to move to a new club.

At the moment, the 15-capped international is earning a salary of £130,000-a-week (The Mail). So, Man Utd would have to more than quadruple his wages in order to secure his signature. It must be remembered that the highest earner at Old Trafford is Cristiano Ronaldo, who takes home around £480,000-a-week (The Sun).

Man Utd do need to strengthen their strike-force because the likes of Ronaldo and Cavani are not going to be here for the long term. Haaland is one of the best forwards in the world, he has already netted 13 goals in 10 games for Dortmund this season and was the top scorer in the Champions League last term.

In your view, should Man Utd agree a deal worth £577,000-a-week to sign him?
