Manchester City are reportedly close to agreeing on a new contract with 21-year-old attacker Ferran Torres.

According to the Daily Star, the £20m 2020 arrival from Valencia is set for a huge pay increase with City as well as a two-year extension. Torres’ current contract expires in 2025.

Torres is a fan favourite at the Etihad Stadium and a player Pep Guardiola has got a lot out of since landing in England last year. The winger has been converted into a centre-forward, and has impressed in the position.

When fit, the attacker has often operated as the focal point in the City attacker. And his performances in recent months will see Torres rewarded with a new contract.

City have been on top of renewing contracts for key players in recent months. The likes of Ederson Moraes, John Stones and Ruben Dias have all penned long-term deals with the club.

And now, Torres is close to becoming the latest player to sign a new contract with the Premier League champions. Phil Foden is also reportedly close to renewing a new deal.
