4-3-3: Predicted Liverpool lineup with Klopp to start dream midfield vs Arsenal

Here’s our predicted Liverpool lineup v Arsenal on Saturday afternoon. The Reds will hope to get back on the winning track at Anfield.

Everything looked remarkably rosy after Liverpool beat Manchester United 5-0 at Old Trafford. The Reds made one incredible title statement there – they just haven’t followed up on it.

They drew 2-2 against Brighton at home before losing 3-2 at West Ham United. Liverpool aren’t exactly falling away (they’re four points from 1st) but they need to start winning again.

That begins with Saturday’s game against Arsenal. The Gunners are in good form, though, while Liverpool have some injuries to deal with. It all means Jurgen Klopp has some big decisions for his lineup.

Defence

Alisson Becker will start in goal, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk seem certain to start. Left-back seems clear to us, too – Kostas Tsimikas.

Andy Robertson is reportedly 50/50 for the game and we’re not sure Liverpool should risk him. That leaves Tsimikas in line for the biggest start of his Reds career.

As for the other centre-back? Roll a dice. We’re not sure whether it’ll be Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate or Joe Gomez. We’ll predict Matip but it could be any of them.

Midfield

Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are certainties. We expect Tiago to join them, too, giving Liverpool their dream midfield.

It’s not one we’ve seen very often but these are undoubtedly the best three midfielders at the club. As Liverpool look to dominate the ball against Arsenal, it makes complete sense to use them.

There is half a chance that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain plays, though. He’s in decent form and we’ll always doubt Thiago’s fitness. The Englishman could feature if Liverpool still don’t want to risk the Spaniard.

Attack

Roberto Firmino won’t play and may not feature until mid-December. That essentially guarantees a front-three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.

There were doubts that Mane was fit after going off injured for Senegal. He’s training, though, and should start this one.

Predicted Liverpool lineup v Arsenal

Alisson
Alexander-Arnold – Matip – Van Dijk – Tsimikas
Fabinho
Henderson – Thiago
Salah – Jota – Mane
