Arsenal might have seen off Leeds with considerable ease at Elland Road last night, but one of the main talking points on the night was some Oscar-worthy acting from both Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale.
The England duo were caught on camera trying to convince the referee that White had made a fair challenge on young Leeds striker, Joe Gelhardt. The penalty was given, and on the replays, it was even more obvious that White had simply clattered into the Leeds striker.
However, while the decision was a no-brainer, the same can’t be said about how White and Ramsdale reacted. The pair were seen high fiving and Ramsdale immediately clapped to praise White’s tackle. They then had a look of disbelief on their faces as the decision was given. Ultimately, though, they were fooling nobody, including the Arsenal fans on Twitter.
The Gunners faithful were quick to clock what Ramsdale and White had tried. And in fairness, most saw the funny side of what their summer signings were trying to achieve.
