Man Utd raise offer to £50million that club president wanted to accept – Report

Manchester United have been linked with several quality midfielders and one of them is Uruguayan international, Federico Valverde.

According to a recent report covered by Spanish outlet, El Nacional, the Red Devils initially moved in with an offer of 50 million euros to sign the South American from Real Madrid but the move was turned down.

Transfer: Man Utd push hard to sign £215,000-a-week player offered to them – Report

The news source have mentioned that Man Utd have raised the offer to £50million and Los Blancos president, Florentino Perez, was in favor of accepting the offer.

However, it is stated that manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to hold on to the 23-year-old and due to the pressure put by the sports management, Perez has once again rejected the offer of the Red Devils.

Valverde is naturally a central midfielder, who can effectively play in multiple roles and he was a key player for the Spanish giants under the management of former boss, Zinedine Zidane.

Since the arrival of Ancelotti, the 35-capped international has mainly warmed the bench alongside summer signing Eduardo Camavinga because the Italian boss has preferred veterans Modric and Kroos in his starting XI.

The former AC Milan coach wants Valverde to become the future leader for the Bernabeu outfit and therefore, he does not want to sell him.

In your view, who should Man Utd sign to reinforce the midfield department this month?
