According to Sport, Francisco Trincao will join Wolves on a permanent basis this summer, with Adama Traore heading to Barcelona.

WHAT’S THE STORY?

Well, the Portugal international is currently on loan at Wolves from Barcelona, whereas Traore is on loan at Barcelona from Wolves.

Both clubs value their player at a similar price, so Sport believe a straight swap deal will happen in the summer.

It is said that Jorge Mendes came up with the idea to construct the deal in this way, and the negotiations should be finalised in June.

Sport believe Wolves view Trincao as a good investment, and they are happy to proceed with the swap deal once the season is over.

So far, the €30m (£25m) man has made 18 Premier League appearances this season, and has shown flashes of his brilliance.

WOLVES NEED MORE FROM FRANCISCO TRINCAO

As talented as Trincao is, he needs to start delivering more in the final third for Wolves if he really is set to join permanently.

£25m for a player of his quality is a good long-term investment, but to have one goals and zero assists at this stage of the season isn’t great, in all honesty.

Alongside the likes of Raul Jimenez and Hwang Hee-chan, Trincao should definitely be getting more goal involvements.

Having said that, he is still a very young player, who moved to a new country during a global pandemic.

It must’ve been difficult to settle in the Midlands as a result, so he deserves time to show why he’s such a highly-rated talent.
