Man Utd ready to agree £159,000 a week terms to secure signing – Journalist

Few years back, Manchester United broke the bank to make Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in the world.

The England international, who is the captain at Old Trafford, has been out of form this season. On the other hand, the Red Devils splashed the cash to sign a decorated player like Varane last summer but things have not improved at the back and the record is worse than the last campaign.

As per reports, the Red Devils have been linked with Uruguayan international, Ronald Araujo, for some time and the latest reports suggest that United have put a huge contract on the table.

According to Marca, Man Utd and Chelsea are very interested in luring the central defender, whose contract with Barcelona will expire in 16 months.

As per Spanish journalist Dario Montero, Araujo’s renewal at the Nou Camp has been a problem for Barca, who have only offered him a deal worth 4 million euros per year.

In contrast, Montero claims that Man Utd are ready to agree a deal worth £159,000 a week (10 million euros per year) to bring the South American star to Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old center back is a key member of the Barca squad rejuvenated by legend, Xavi Hernandez. He is the future of the club and the Catalan giants must pay up to hold on to him.

Apart from Varane and Maguire, Man Utd do have CBs like Lindelof, Bailly and Jones, In your view, should they agree huge contract to sign Ronald Araujo in the summer transfer window?
