‘He has that instinct,’ says one. Thierry Henry praises the £27 million ace, who is rumored to be ‘open’ to a move to Arsenal.

Thierry Henry has claimed that Arsenal transfer target, Gabriel Jesus, has ‘that nine instinct’ inside the box, as he told CBS Sports (26/04/22 at 7:30 pm).

Given Mikel Arteta’s past relations with Manchester City and the fact that he has worked with Jesus before, there are suggestions that he wants to bring the player to Arsenal.

What would be music to the ears of Arsenal fans is that the 25-year-old is ‘open’ to the idea of joining the Champions League-chasing side in the summer, according to David Ornstein.

Arsenal is searching for that all-important striker in the summer, with Alexandre Lacazette heading for a free transfer, along with Eddie Nketiah.

Even now, Arteta could do with another number nine, so one new face might not just arrive, as Henry shared his thoughts on one of the club’s targets.

“What he can give offensively to the team,” said Henry. “We saw that he scored four goals at the weekend.

“When he is in the box, he’s one of the three that is playing, or since Aguero left, he has that nine instinct. He has what the number nine would smell.

“What I like with him is that when he puts pressure, whether it’s on the left, on the right, or in the middle. He doesn’t have a problem defending in their situations by coming back and helping his team.”

Signed up for £27 million as an unknown fresh-faced teenager by Manchester City in 2016 (Sky Sports), Jesus hasn’t always been a regular starter under Pep Guardiola in the Premier League.

This season, Jesus has seven Premier League goals and nine assists to his name added to four goals in the Champions League.

Although, he has played across the forward line for Pep Guardiola this season, as they aim to win the double.

If Jesus were to leave the Etihad, then surely he would want to join a team in the Champions League, so it’s pretty vital that Arsenal give themselves that edge by securing that all-important fourth spot in the Premier League table
