Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves wants to join Barcelona amidst reported transfer interest from Tottenham, according to Sport.

Neves, who has been a fixture in the Wolves line-up throughout their stay in the Premier League, has been tipped to leave Molineux this summer with the club now ready to sell the Portuguese (The Times).

90min have since named Spurs as potential suitors for the 25-year-old, alongside Manchester United and rivals Arsenal, with Neves allegedly informing the Midlands side of his desire for a new challenge.

But the English trio could face a challenge in their pursuit, with Spanish outlet Sport now reporting that Neves has placed Barcelona as a ‘priority’ for his next move.

The report states Neves’s dreams of turning out for the Blaugrana while his agent Jorge Mendes, who has a strong relationship with the club, could be key in paving the way for a transfer.

Neves’ current contract with Wolves is set to expire in the summer of 2024. He has made 32 appearances this season scoring four times (Transfermarkt).

With the current state of play, Neves won’t be a cheap transfer to complete and Wolves won’t exactly want to sell him to another English side.

Barcelona may well be his preferred destination, but there are still questions remaining on whether they will be able to afford such a transfer.
