The €73 million star wants to join Liverpool if he is paid €230,000 per week.

Liverpool can sign Matthijs de Ligt this summer if they agree to pay him £200,000 per week, according to Calciomercato.

The Reds have a lot of options at center back, but they were one of the clubs that tried to sign him after he left Ajax in 2019.

The Dutchman’s contract with the club expires at the end of the 2023/24 season, and he appears to be looking for a new club to join.

Juve is reportedly trying to renew his contract for €7.5 million per season, which is less than the €12 million deal he already has with the Serie A club.

Manchester United have made it clear they won’t pay him what he is currently earning while the likes of PSG, Manchester City, and Liverpool are said to hold a chance of signing him.

According to the report, if Liverpool offered him a weekly wage of €230,000 (approximately £200,000), the center-back “would agree to leave” Juventus.

It’s made clear that no offers have arrived, so his options are limited.

It almost makes no sense for Liverpool to sign de Ligt, especially given his €73 million price tag.

Jurgen Klopp does not require any additional central defenders.

The German team has arguably the best depth at center back in Europe.

No other club can boast Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate, or Joe Gomez.

The fact that Gomez, one of Europe’s best defenders, played for Liverpool for only 1036 minutes speaks volumes about Klopp’s strength in numbers.
