AFTER MISSING OUT ON ARSENAL OUTCAST, £55M SPURS STAR IS EYED BY CLUB, ACCORDING TO REPORT

ACF Giovani Lo Celso of Tottenham is apparently appealing to Fiorentina, the Serie A team that missed out on signing Lucas Torreria of Arsenal on a permanent basis.

The Argentine failed to satisfy the Tottenham manager soon after his hiring, and the midfielder spent the second part of last season on loan with Villarreal, according to La Nazione via GIFN. As a result, Antonio Conte is willing to transfer Lo Celso this summer.

During his brief spell in Spain, Lo Celso made an impression. As a result, Fiorentina is considering signing the £55 million Tottenham player instead of Torreira, who was turned down by La Viola since Arsenal wouldn’t decrease their asking price for the midfielder.

Dusan Vlahovic was sold to Juventus for a club-record sum in January, but Fiorentina was unable to match Arsenal’s rumored £13 million buy option for the Uruguayan international; as a result, the Serie A team is now considering Lo Celso as a potential addition this summer.

In fact, Conte is willing to let the South American depart for a significant loss in order to get the midfielder off of Spurs’ books. Tottenham is eager to offload Lo Celso this window and has already recruited Yves Bissouma as a potential replacement.

Lo Celso may be open to joining Fiorentina this summer given that the Italian team will play in Europe next year. However, because the club is unwilling to match Arsenal’s $13 million asking price for Torreira, a loan move is the most likely scenario for the Tottenham player.

The Argentine was fantastic for Villarreal during his loan stint in Spain last season, so it’s no surprise that Lo Celso’s move to Tottenham never seemed to work out. Fiorentina may be the perfect fit for the midfielder, especially to replace Torreira.

While the two midfielders are as dissimilar as they come, Lo Celso possesses the skills to be a tremendous asset in Serie A, a league that would be ideal for the Tottenham star’s kind of play and, if all goes according to plan, lead to a permanent transfer away from north London in 2023.
