Andreas Pereira’s future will soon be resolved once his loan at Flamengo comes to an end on June 30.
Pereira is set to play the 52nd game of his loan spell for the club, where his preference remains to stay.
However, Flamengo are unwilling to pay the money to sign him, and an alternate proposal from Fulham awaits.
Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte report Fulham have made an offer of £10 million which has a ‘principle agreement‘ from Manchester United, and is awaiting the ‘yes’ from Pereira.
Pereira will play his final Flamengo match in the early hours of Thursday at 1.30am in the Copa Libertadores against Colombian club Deportes Tolima.
This is the competition where it all went wrong for Pereira last November.
Pereira fatefully gave the ball away in the final in extra-time for the winning goal for Palmeiras, costing his side the trophy.
As Bola VIP report, Flamengo fans turned on Pereira and urged the club not to pay up and spend on the Manchester United player, when a deal was being prepared.
Pereira has mended some fences since, but the game-costing mistake is not forgotten, with Bola VIP reporting: “Many fans who do not forgive the athlete for the failure.”
He remains a regular in the Flamengo line-up, and has made clear his first choice is to stay at the club.
In an interview ahead of his final Flamengo game, Pereira said: “It is no longer in our hands, I have already spoken in several opportunities and interviews, my wish (is) to stay! I will play Wednesday, and I will leave and give my life on the field.”
He is reported to be frustrated with the situation, that Flamengo have left it all until the last minute.
Even last week, vice-president Marco Braz told Lance that Flamengo were still looking at options to try and keep him.
Bola VIP report Pereira’s representatives have now had to look at other alternatives, and Fulham’s offer is a very real possibility for him, and one the Brazilian side can’t compete with. He will turn his attention to that once his final Flamengo game is over.
With a bit of luck, his future will finally be resolved, and United will soon have £10 million extra to reinvest in players.
