Medical Man City will finalize a blockbuster signing tomorrow after terms are agreed upon – Exclusive

Kalvin Phillips is scheduled to undergo a Man City medical on Friday as they finalise his £50million capture from Leeds United, Football Insider understands.

The 26-year-old has agreed personal terms with City after they settled a fee worth £45m plus £5m of add-ons

A City source has told Football Insider that Phillips is pencilled in for medical tests on Friday as the deal now reaches its final stages.

All the paperwork is now in place for the England star to be City’s latest marquee signing within days.

The centre-midfielder is set to double the wages on his current deal at Elland Road, which is due to expire in the summer of 2024.

Phillips will become City’s second marquee signing of the summer following the capture of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

West Ham and Aston Villa have also attempted to land the England international.

Both clubs tabled offers but have lost out to the Premier League champions.

Phillips struggled with injury in the 2021-22 campaign for Leeds.

He contributed one goal and one assist in 23 appearances across all competitions as Jesse March’s side narrowly avoided relegation.

A move to Man City will bring to an end a 12-year association with Leeds United.

Phillips came through the ranks at the Yorkshire club and made his debut in 2015.

In total, he has 233 senior appearances for the Whites to his name.
