The fee being discussed is €10 million, which is approximately £8.6 million. He will sign a three-year contract with the Catalan club, and Chelsea has approved the sale.
The two parties will try to finalize the deal during discussions next week, and it appears to be one of many transfer deals that Barcelona is working on right now in order to sign new players.
Chelsea could look to replace Alonso when he leaves, or they could look within their own ranks, such as Emerson Palmieri, who is returning from a loan spell with Lyon.
